This is a photograph showing a
hole in the side of the crankcase of one of the 3 Paxman generators
onboard the Booker Vanguard, after a piston running at 1200 rpm
parted company with its bottom end. This was later found to have
been caused by metal fatigue of the bottom end bolts of one unit.
The 'Commander' (Mr. Llewellyn) was the Chief Engineer on that trip.
